Default Evercade

Anyone here an Evercade fan? I picked up the EXP a few years ago and it is pretty fun. Mostly gave up on buying physical games a long time ago, but I did end up collecting a few of these carts once they started including arcade games.

The latest model, Evercade Alpha, resembles the Arcade 1up Countercade (or the Picade for the retroarch crowd) and even includes similar games, but it still has Evercade cartridge slots so you can play any of the 500+ available games. In fact the dual slot models have hidden games that are only available with certain cartridge pairs which is kind of cool, or kind of annoying if you picked up the single cartridge model like I did

The same company also released the HyperMegaTech! handheld in the Game Boy/portrait format. There are Capcom and Taito variants and both play Evercade carts in addition to the built in games.

Anyway, I think the Alpha model looks pretty cool and is hopefully sturdy; the special edition models have upgraded Sanwa arcade parts. The only annoying thing is so far the Capcom and Taito collections are only available as built-in and not cartridge for some reason. This brings it back to the Arcade 1up style where they will probably release multiple variants with exclusive games, definitely do not have space for that so I hope they eventually release these arcade games on a standard Evercade cartridge.

Haha funny you started this thread. I was literally thinking the other day that I might start one about this. Oh well.....

I am indeed enjoying it. I even have a complete collection of carts to this point.

As far as the Alpha, no thanks. Maybe if it's $50 somewhere someday. Rather just play the carts on the VS with an arcade stick controller. Could just get an Arcade1up countercade for cheaper and put a Pi in it and it would be infinitely better. The money spent on making this alpha crap could of been used to help wow companies into putting their games on carts.

Agreed, the hardware exclusive games are not great when a main point of Evercade was the ability to buy physical copies of your games. If they did a Darkstalkers or Dragon's Lair countertop I might have more interest...

The dual slot feature is cool, but I get your point about it being frustrating if you don't have the right cartridges to unlock hidden games.

I haven’t checked out the Evercade Alpha yet, but it sounds interesting, especially with the arcade games included. I totally agree about space; I’ve been trying to keep my collection manageable. I also hope they release those Capcom and Taito collections as cartridges eventually.

In the meantime, I’ve been enjoying some free online games that scratch that retro itch too. It’s nice to have quick access to fun games without needing extra hardware.

It would be cool if Evercade could be added in the Games section on this site, to add the cartridges to our collections.

Ok, there is a new Evercade Alpha and I feel like they screwed up again. Not thrilled that the first two had games you can't buy on cart (exclusive to the specific Alpha bartop unit), this time none of the games are exclusive but it's a mix of the games that are available on the newly announced Taito Arcade 1 & 2 carts. Kind of forces you to buy some of the games twice if you want the whole collection, not cool. Guess I will skip this one as well.

I haven’t seen Evercade in any stores, though my local Target did carry their Hyper Mega Tech handhelds a while back.

Amazon has the Console, the hand held is sold out I guess. The Console says it will be months for delivery.
I see the Alpha on E-bay. Way overprices though. Hope this does not end up like IIrcade.

Default MMOexp WoW Classic 20th Anniversary: Why This Quest Still Resonates

On paper,"Collecting Raptor Horns" may appear like your standard fetch-and-kill quest, but it's much more than that. For those familiar with The Barrens,it's a microcosm of everything that made Classic WoW great—challenging enemies, unexpected lore, colorful NPCs,and the sense that even a simple task was part of a much bigger world.
Into the Wild: Hunting Sunscale Reapers

The creatures you're after—Sunscale Reapers—are not just any raptors. According to Mebok, these particular beasts possess unique horns that hold scientific or alchemical interest (because,of course, they do,this is a goblin we're talking about). These cunning predators can be found in two main areas: the Southern Barrens and the northern parts near the Ashenvale border.

Although they're not elite monsters,Sunscale Reapers present a respectable challenge, particularly for lower-level or less durable classes. They're often found in pairs or small groups and are known to be aggressive on sight,so caution is advised for mages, priests, and other squishier builds. The drop rate for Intact Raptor Horns is moderate—don't expect every raptor to drop one,and be ready for a bit of a grind.

This classic setup—relatively tough mobs, variable drop rates, and the need for some strategic combat—highlights what made WoW's early quests so rewarding. It wasn't just about clicking through objectives; it was about the adventure between points A and B.
Ratchet: A Hub of Chaos,Trade, and Opportunity

While the Barrens chat may be a meme of its own,Ratchet serves as a vital hub in the early game, especially for Horde players. It's a crossroad for traders, pirates, goblins, and now, anniversary adventurers. Mebok Mizzyrix, the goblin inventor who initiates the quest,is one of the more memorable personalities you'll encounter, fitting for a game that often doesn't take itself too seriously.

Players turning in the quest will not only get experience and loot but also gain a bump in Ratchet's reputation. For those grinding Steamwheedle Cartel factions for rare rewards or achievements, every little bit counts.

20th Anniversary Bonuses: Classic Gold,New Flair

This year's WoW Classic 20th Anniversary event isn't just a nostalgic throwback—it introduces new systems and incentives through the WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Gold program. Classic quests like "Collecting Raptor Horns" now offer time-limited enhancements that make revisiting them more rewarding than ever.
Event-Specific Perks for This Quest May Include:

Gold Pouch (Anniversary Edition): An extra gold reward for completing legacy content during the event window.

Novelty Trinkets: Unique items like the Raptor Horn Trinket that may offer minor buffs or humorous effects.

Bonus Ratchet Reputation: Helpful for players chasing faction-based transmog, mounts,or cosmetic unlocks.

Increased Experience Gains: Perfect for leveling alts or new players trying Classic for the first time.

These additions make old quests feel fresh, encouraging players to explore content they might have otherwise skipped. It's a smart move by Blizzard to celebrate 20 years not just with flashy cinematics but by breathing life into the core content that made World of Warcraft iconic.
Tactical Tips for Success

Bring Friends: The Reapers can be overwhelming if you're solo, especially on a PvP server.

Farm Efficiently: Pull raptors in pairs if possible and make use of crowd control if you're a caster or healer.

Loot as You Go: Raptors may respawn quickly in high-traffic areas,so stay alert.

Stack Quests: Combine this task with other Barrens quests to maximize your route efficiency.

Why This Quest Still Resonates

For many players,"Collecting Raptor Horns" evokes a particular memory of their early days in Azeroth: the long treks through The Barrens, the dynamic zone chat full of Chuck Norris jokes, and the sense of scale that made the world feel alive. It's not the most epic storyline in WoW,but that's the point.

Every player needs a lot of WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Gold, I suggest you go to a third-party website like MMOexp.com to buy, safe and comfortable transactions, and years of experience to ensure the security of your account.
