THE SUMMER EPIC HIT, KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, REIGN CONTINUES
BE THE FIRST TO WATCH AT HOME WHEN 20TH CENTURY STUDIOS’ IMPRESSIVE ACTION-ADVENTURE KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES BECOMES AVAILABLE TO BUY AT DIGITAL RETAILERS ON JULY 9 AND ON 4K ULTRA HD, BLU-RAY, AND DVD ON AUGUST 27
THE 4K ULTRA HD PACKAGE CONTAINS OVER 3 HOURS OF CONTENT PLUS AN ALTERNATE CUT OF THE MOVIE

BURBANK, CA (June 20, 2024) – The fate of the world is at stake when 20th Century Studios’ Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes arrives to digital retailers (Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home) on July 9 and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on August 27. Director Wes Ball’s stunning new entry into the Planet of the Apes series has been heralded by critics as “a jaw-dropping spectacle” (Matt Neglia, Next Big Picture) and “a visual masterpiece” (Mark Hughes, Forbes). It is Certified-Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and has thrilled audiences worldwide, becoming one of the biggest global box office successes of the year and marking the beginning of a new era for the epic Planet of the Apes franchise.

Set generations after Caesar’s reign in a world where apes are the dominant species, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes follows an ape named Noa and a human named Mae as they emerge to define the future of how apes and humans will coexist.

Fans can delve deeper into the franchise on 4K UHD editions with Inside the Lens: The Raw Cut, a full-length alternative cut with a split-screen comparison between the final cut of the film and a version with unfinished VFX with optional audio commentary by director Wes Ball, editor Dan Zimmerman and VFX supervisor Erik Winquist. The never-before-seen alternate cut gives fans a unique opportunity to see the actors’ performances before the visual effects were completed.

FILM SYNOPSIS
Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise with this action-adventure spectacle from 20th Century Studios. Set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, apes are living harmoniously as the dominant species—and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

Almost a 2 month gap between physical and digital, damn.

I'm excited to rewatch this, not sure if I'll cave and go for digital.

At least they're including the alternate version of just the Actors in Mo-cap on Disc.

The mo-cap version is exclusive to the 4K combo, and it looks like it the 4K combo only includes the theatrical version on the 4K disc and not the BD disc too.

The raw cut is essential to me but I'd hate not having the theatrical on Blu-ray disc.

Guess I'm buying the 4K at release and the BD on Black Friday.

It's on Blu-ray, but only included with the 4K releases.

That is just weird. So they are putting a Blu-Ray with this on the 4K editions. But on the Blu-Ray release they only put the theatrical release disc on. WTF man

So to get the alternate cut on blu-ray you have to buy the 4K?

Yep, either the standard 4K, or the 4K Steelbook.

Unfortunately it won't have the theatrical on Blu-ray, just the alternate raw cut version on the included BD. It should have been a 3-disc release with the theatrical Blu-ray included too.

No. It is two discs only: 4K disc - theatrical, Blu-ray disc - raw cut.

It really should. This is just insane yet they write 4K+Blu-Ray+Digital on the frontcover. So when they write Blu-Ray they mean the Raw Cut. Wow

I got the steelbook and i activated the digital code which has the theatrical cut. Around the holidays, I'll see if there is any Black Friday sales for the Blu Ray release but agree with everyone that this release was handled very poorly. They should of at least made the steelbook a three disk set for the added premium release.
