Never heard of him, is this a good change or a bad change? (I'm guessing bad)
It's been ~15 years since I've played so I don't remember much of the story/acting scenes. Just remember having more fun with this one than the sequels. |

I recently re-bought Dead Rising 1 for PS4/PS5 for $5.99 and play it on PS5 just to re-experience the mall again. Had the original 360 release on day 1. Really good but some of the bosses were very difficult to beat. Just imagine running away from zombies and getting hit with their gunfire in the game. Not fun in the open park area of the mall.
Unless the game has a new control set up (the gun aiming was clumsy as heck in DR1), I'll pass as the original game looks good to this day for a PS3/360 era game. I'll wait to see new features if any. The PS4 Dead Rising version doesn't have the Free Play mode in it, you have to play the 72 hour countdown mode only to start. Maybe it'll unlock, I don't think so. Dead Rising 1: 8/10 Very good zombie mall game. Dawn of the Dead's Richard P. Rubinstein actually sued Capcom for "stealing" his mall of zombies rights (based on Romero's film from 1978). Dead Rising 2: 7/10 Dead Rising 4: 6/10 How are there thousands of Mall worker zombies all dressed as red or green Santa's Elves? Almost Zero variety of clothing for the zombies. The original developer from Vancouver, (BC? Canada?) was eliminated by Capcom in 2018 while working on Dead Rising 5. Poor DR4 sales maybe. |

Or just give us the option of a normal run or a sandbox mode. I've been meaning to go back and play this game again, but it is a little rough around the edges. This remaster could be a great opportunity for some touch ups to the AI and some other QoL adjustments.

I have Dead Rising 2 Off the Record on disc, with Frank West the photographer. It's for PS3 though. I really liked it as it has some good mall areas to explore.
Dead Rising 1, that double floor opening mall is the best mall in a video game that I've seen yet. Just not enough mall themed games. State of Emergency had a mall in it for PS1 I think. Driv3r had a Florida Mall. You could even drive a car or bike through it. Saints Row 2 had a big mall. Cyberpunk 2077 has an abandoned mall to explore before it's populated by villains, but it's small and nothing to really see. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 had a small mall. Watch Dogs Legion has a small Better Sea Mall in the south west map. GTA Vice City has an interesting mall. Dead Rising 4's mall for PS4 is good, but constantly filled with zombies. You can never fully clear it out like in Dead Rising 1 and then peacefully explore (as long as you don't leave that mall zone, if you leave it resets the zombies). |

No PS4? Lame.... and really stupid move considering way more people still have PS4s than PS5. Capcom missing out on $$$$.
Looks more like Bill Murray to me. There's Infinity mode after you beat the story, and you can always just ignore the main story/case files and do whatever you want. |

If not mistaken, Frank West sounds like they got a different voice actor. Maybe due to the rights not transferring to any remakes/remasters. |

The PS4 is over 10 years old. You can't expect every new AAA release to keep coming out on such old hardware this far into the current generation. Even Sony seems to have stopped producing games for PS4 out of principle, since Lego Horizon is also coming to Switch meaning there's no technical reason why it couldn't work on PS4 other than Sony doesn't want to put it out.

I read that half of PS users still haven't upgraded to the PS5... that's alot of $ Capcom is leaving on the table. |

I thought they remastered it already for the PS4/Xbox One and now there's another remaster? Well, it's at least better than the newer games.

While remaking old games. I mean, that feels uninspiring and unoriginal. :/ I'm still waiting for Power Stone 3 and Tech Romancer 2 which looks like it'll never happen. |

The previous remaster was barely a remaster, it was essentially just a port from Xbox 360 to PS4 with up-resed textures and better framerate. This new remaster/remake has completely new assets, running in a different engine, and it sounds like they've made some other improvements to the AI characters and their pathing.
