After almost 20 years of unparalleled service, my wife and I agreed that our old Subaru Outback needs to be retired and replaced with a smaller new car. Since a single small car will do for our present lifestyle, we decided to check out one of the "hybrid" models that use both electric and petrol. We live in the UK and at present are looking at the Honda Jazz or Honda Crosstar automatic, which seem to suit us best.
However, there is one issue with any Hybrid model. We put the car in storage with a professional facility and go to India for 6 months of the year, usually from mid-October to mid-April. Will there be any problem in putting a hybrid car into storage like that? Specifically, will it spoil the electric component of the hybrid engine? The storage facility owner, a friend, was not certain himself because he usually stores classic cars and a few conventional family cars for people like us; he has never stored a hybrid car but as long as it was simple, is willing to to whatever that needs to be done to keep the mechanism from being ruined. He is trying to get more information. Can anyone here tell me if it is OK to put a hybrid car in storage for up to 6 months? Last edited by Hintermann; 07-09-2024 at 09:32 AM. |
