I just wanted to pose the question to you guys and see what you think. I am not sure what kinds of software that companies use to restore older films, but it seems that newer versions of that software have tools that utilize advanced AI algorithms that make determinations on what changes need to happen to the audio and visual aspects of a film.
It just seems very lazy to me, but I wonder how much AI has been used in the past versus how much it is used now. This question recently came to my mind with the release of True Lies, Aliens, Abyss, Jaws 3 and 4 etc. All of these releases seem to feature AI quite heavily with mixed to disastrous effect.
