If this was 4K, I'd buy it. But since I already own the original Sentai BD release, I will pass on this.

Sentai's MSRP's tend to be high from what I've seen.

It's also available directly from Sentai for 45.99 (free shipping with $50 or more). Their page says " Limited Print Run, Quantities Available for Pre-Order While Supplies Last."

I can’t help but feel underwhelmed - I personally find the Manga UK steel much more striking (can’t believe how long ago that released!). It’s great for anyone who doesn’t already own one, but I don’t see anything here worth the buy.

They also historically sell their $30-100 releases for 90-95% off during frequent sales. I think that era may be over now though thanks to Sony.

got the uk steel back in 2012, it's exactly the same disc from the looks of it.

Like said before, even if it were 4k, the price is ridiculous..

Is buying direct from Sentai known for quality packaging? Basically, where I can buy this to assure I get a copy that is in near perfect condition? I've had terrible luck with Amazon. Target doesn't always use boxes but I've had better luck with them.

In my experience they usually only use boxes if you have a bigger order.

It won't ship in a box but the Crunchyroll store usually ships in those fold-around cardboard mailers that offer a bit more protection.

Agreed. Already own the BD for this release but would bite if this were 4K.

They likely couldn't get the 4K master from Japan, if it even exists.
