Some golden news for kung fu fans! Two ‘Golden Harvest’ Blu-ray Box Set Collections arriving soon to U.S. retailers

Hong Kong film expert Frank Djeng (New York Asian Film Festival) revealed that two Golden Harvest Boxed Set Collections are in the works by a U.S. label that has yet to be named. The two sets will include 14 titles (spread across the two volumes), with Vol. 1 arriving early next year.

If the photo below is any indication (Frank is pictured with fellow kung fu film/Bruceploitation expert, Michael Worth, stating “Another audio commentary with my partner in crime in the bag!”), one of the titles included will be the 1973 Angela Mao classic, When Taekwondo Strikes, which recently received a UK release by Eureka.

We’ll keep you updated on this upcoming release as we learn more.

Yeah, this is coming from Shout. Some likely titles include When Taekwondo Strikes, The Skyhawk, Beach of the War Gods, and possibly Slaughter in San Francisco.

Can't wait for this. Glad we are getting When Taekwondo Strikes strikes as well as others. Since Shout Factory has the rights to that, I'm guessing this will be a Shout release.

Should be all new titles for the US on Blu-ray, but will be a mix of titles that were already released in the UK for sure.

This. They’ll be all new titles for the US market, won’t be all new for folks that have ordered various titles from the UK.

Probably around $99 MSRP for 7 films, if it is indeed Shout Factory? They tended to do around $14/movie for their previous martial arts big boxes, if memory serves. Likely far less on Amazon once it actually hits retail.

That's the MSRP on the last Jackie Chan set, right?
Similar amount of movies, so I'd expect it around there.

Unless they decide to make it a site exclusive and then charge double

Even as a region B native, it should work out less for me than importing all the titles from the UK.

But I'm not sure what Frank Djeng and Michael Worth are doing working on this when they should be busy preparing Bruceploitation boxsets for my enjoyment...
