I just got mine a couple of weeks ago and love every aspect of it. I found out last night through browsing all over the net that Dirac ART may be available early 2025. Any truth in that? Of course asking the company itself (PAC) will not yield any confirmation.

I loved all the Pioneer Elite receivers I owned. (Previously the SC-55 and then the SC-LX801). The 801 was a great receiver, but unfortunately was one of the many casualties when my house had a lightning strike that took out much of my A/V and computer equipment.
I replaced it with a Yamaha receiver (which has served well). Around that time I heard that Pioneer had been bought out by Onkyo and that Onkyo might not continue developing some of the Pioneer products. If your 805 does get a DIRAC firmware update, it would be consistent with what Onkyo does with their higher end products. I haven't seen anything else in the news, but I do hope they do offer it in a firmware update! DIRAC has always been considered the best kind of room correction for receivers. I wonder if you were referring to this article? --> link |
