Noisy Hard Drive - Blu-ray Forum

Recently the hard drive in my ps3 has started to make unusual sounds.

If you listen carefully it sounds like there is a rattling sound from inside!
I have removed the cover to see if anything had snapped and took the hard drive out but it all seems to be in one peice!

Do you think my hard drive is just wearing out?

I still have the 60gb drive in which i have been using since uk launch date.

This happened to anyone else?

My 60GB HDD was silent, but the 120GB one I replaced it with makes a noise that I guess could be called rattling, but thats just the read/write heads moving- which is possibly what yours is. But if you've only just started hearing it, it might be something else.
