Spain Intacto (Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Eusebio Poncela, October 2024)

....and Max von Sydow.

Great little film I have the old US DVD so this will be a massive upgrade.

Subtitles: Spanish, Inglés, Portugués, Francés.

Good subtitles, learning from the local bootleggers.

Sadly, missing from the US DVD:
Audio commentary with director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo
"The Making of Intacto" featurette (15:58)
"The Making of FX" featurette (2:31)
Cannes Promo (1:40)

Spanish CE DVD:
"Esposados" short by director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (22:39)
"Psicotaxi" short by director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (3:20)
"Cannes Promo" featurette (1:43)
"Special Effects" featurette (2:22)
"Making of" featurette (15:58)

That's why I hold on to DVDs until the death.

Not great from Lionsgate but way better than above:

Unbelievable, first Nine Queens, now Intacto! I had a quick conversation in passing about Intacto on reddit just a few days ago, wondering why it had never been picked up…and now here it is!

Nine Queens (Nueve reinas) is brilliant Sony are sitting on a gold mine on foreign language films in the US.

We need more Argentina/English friendly releases very little information on their releases. I've been watching Marco Berger stuff recently and working my way through IMDb's top 100 Aregntine films.

Highlander 2 was made in Argentina but this is the wrong thread for that

Yeah, they’re hard to find, least of all with English subtitles. What I have seen though there have been some cracking good films.

Got my disc. It plays fine on a locked A player.

Image looks great.

English/French/Portuguese subtitles.

Fixed that for you. That's the old US disc with the extras.

I just got this disk after years searching for it but I did not remember the title until it was right in front of me at a shop.
This title it is sadly not on the BD Database on the site and cannot add it to my collection. How would it be added to it?

It plays on my PlayStation just fine.
Same for PC after dumping.

When I first moved to LA, I saw Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's Oscar-nominated short "Esposados" ("Linked") - one of the best short films I'd ever seen. I emailed the cinematographer to praise his work, despite being a complete nobody just starting out. To my surprise, he responded with an incredibly kind note, thanking me and expressing interest in potentially working together. At that time, I believe he was teaching cinematography in Tenerife (Canary Islands).

I have the Spanish Special Edition DVD with both shorts and all the extras. I don't know why they removed the shorts from the Blu-ray. Regardless, Intacto is so underrated. It deserves more recognition.

I see the new Australian ALL-REGION Blu-ray release of this film from Umbrella coming out July 9, 2025 includes all of Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's short films and the "making of," all of it subtitled.

This is the one to get!

That's a really nice set I will have to buy it.

I will hold off though for BUYER comments because Umbrella's release of the wonderful Los Cronocrímenes (Timecrimes) has HOH/descriptive English subtitles instead of standard subttiles.

Umbrella essentially told people to **** off when they complained.

That's disappointing. I was planning to buy the Timecrimes Blu-ray from Umbrella that I saw for sale, but now I'll have to wait. Paying $35 for a Spanish film with inadequate subtitles I suppose isn't worth it.

The Timecrimes subtitles are very annoying "door opens" when a door opens sort of thing. No quality control whatsoever.

Great for the HOH/deaf amongst us who will appreciate it mind you so not all bad news.

It has a fantastic video transfer and I will add my own subtitles.

I did notice that the Umbrella edition does have "7:35 de la Mañana" the academy award winning short film by Vigalondo and Alternate Chronological Cut of Timecrimes, so I'm very tempted, in spite of the subtitles flub.
