United Kingdom Limelight - new UK site to order multi-labels

https://limelightcollection.co.uk/

Prices seem to be in line with Powerhouse, and they have other labels like 88, radiance, etc.

Also ships outside of the UK.

Expecting great packaging, safer but more expensive shipping compared to Rarewaves. Might end up a great place to combine larger orders from multiple UK labels and ship them to EU?

I mentioned this in the Indicator thread, but this is an offshoot of Lime Wood Media. So, I have to imagine it'll be the the same kind of service you'd get when ordering from a label's site that uses them for shipping.

I have many questions, such as "Why?" and "How come so many titles - on a new platform during a soft-launch period - are sold out?"

I think I like the idea. Could be good, instead of ordering from 88, FAB and Powerhouse to do it all at a one-stop shop. But what about the 88 points?

I suspect I'll get confused

Didn't Radiance just move from them to another shipping service?

Yes, they're shipping in-house now. Someone brought it up in the Indicator thread too, and I mentioned there that I think Limelight are just selling off existing Radiance inventory now, as they don't have any pre-order titles listed.

Seems like this and the rarewaves collectors editions site overlap a bit, although the latter has a much wider set of labels.

I like the idea, but it's only going to work if they're the same price as other retailers. For some reason the Third Window titles are more expensive here (and are TWF ending their relationship with Arrow then?). I imagine Radiance won't be on there for long, unless they rejoin at a later date.

Not sure how necessary this is with the existence of HMV, and without other key labels on board (e.g. Eureka, Arrow, BFI). Surprised Second Sight aren't on here too, I though Limewood Media distributed their stuff previously?

The idea would be great for us international buyers since I often order direct, especially Boxsets, and each order is around £15 in shipping. That adds up fast. But with Radiance leaving, there would only be Indicator left for me. TWF I add to Arrow direct orders. And 88 sadly just raised their free international shipping from £35 to £100, but at least they still offer bonus points.

just noticed Eureka is not listed as one of the labels. I find that interesting from a UK vendor.

Lots of potential and nice to see them stocking some FAB Press.

It might work.

I wish they had BFI stuff but this does seem worth a look. Might try a disc and book order in a few weeks.

if they package like Indicator, then if they ever have sales, points, etc. they might be better than rarewaves. Will have to wait and hear reviews.

Can't tell. That page shows most of the movies 8.33 pounds (before discount). Is that with the VAT removed? even if not, that turns into 5.84 pounds. Even with S&H, that is not a bad deal, imho, to the US.

Yes, I’m in the U.K. and see as £9.99

9.99/1.2 = 8.33 so in your case VAT removed

They must be doing what Network direct sales did which is use the country linked to your IP address to set the VAT rate applied to the prices. In your case as in US it’s nil.

Means you shouldn’t access the site with a VPN country switch in place.

Great development, especially since the BFI shop is not IOSS registered. They often do Boxsets I’m hesitant to order from Rarewaves. And the 101 shop also is not IOSS registered. Great lineup in total now.
