Default 4K Disc Audio Lag question

Hey I'm hoping somebody can help me out with this.

I own and use a Yamaha RX-V379 receiver for my sound set up. I've noticed an issue with audio lag only when I watch physical 4K movies. So far Scarface 4k and Fright Night 4K (1985).
Could it be that my receiver has a hard time processing Dobly Atmos ? because I don't think it technically supports it.

If I mess with the lipsync setting on the receiver, press pause and play a few times it helps a little, but I'm just wondering what could help more ? Switching over to regular 5.1 DTS on the discs helps a bit, but I still notice a lag. Could it be I need a better HDMI Cable ?
