LOL! Can you blame them if true? HD-DVD is the hot, stinky potato that no one wants to be left holding now.

Today on a French forum a lone (ex?) HD DVD fan was complaining that the stuff he was trying to sell on ebay was plumetting in prices, while the Blu Ray stuff kept high prices

no, but its just one less place that will support their add on. im sure ms produced quite a few of them. I highly doubt they produced less than 500k, with trying to hype HD DVD for such a long time. That means there is something like a couple hundred thousand more on shelves and is MS warehouses, they will never be able to get rid of. More losses for MS XBOX division.

If Gamestop were still taking back the HD DVD add-on and HD DVD's, it means there is a demand for it as a used, cheaper product. It's not even that now.

I called my local Gamestop on Saturday to ask about a PS3 game. While I had the guy on the phone I asked what they were giving for the 360 HD DVD add on. He took a sec and then responded that it was 30 bucks store credit, less if one was to take cash. I told him thanks, put the phone down and had a fairly good laugh. Now they are not even taking them. How Grand!!!

I posted right after the Warner decision advising people to dump their HD DVDs immediately. The discs will be worthless once everyone knows it's a dead format. Within nine months virtually every title that was a red exclusive will have been released on Blu-ray.

Gamestop stores are phasing out movies period. Most of the stores in this area don't even have standard DVDs anymore, and the few that do aren't taking any more. Since Toshiba provided the HD drives themselves, I'm betting they took the biggest hit.

I love my PS3, but I hope some day that it will upscale all games to 1080i/p as my 360 always has.
