Default Twelve Tasks of Asterix French and German BDs

Well, this is a longshot but I will give it a try here.

Way back when, I purchased the French DVD of Twelve Tasks of Asterix, a brilliant animated film. While I prefer to watch movies in their original language, the British dub, included on the French DVD, is so brilliant I actually prefer it to the original. Alas, I only recently realized this title was released on BD, and the French release is already OOP and costs too much now. There was Canadian BD release which includes the British dub but it's in 720p (if you can believe that) and in any case also no longer available.

So I went ahead and purchased the German release that also includes 6 other titles, which was selling for a great price on Amazon Germany. I was going to transport the British dub over from the French DVD (conforming from 25 fps to 23.976 fps.) but it seems the two versions of the film are not the same. There are obvious differences at the beginning and end, with the French DVD including the Studio Idefix logo at the beginning as well as end titles, both of which are missing from the German BD version. However, it appears that the film itself is different from the French version, even though it includes a French language track. I conformed the audio such that the beginning and the end is in sync, but it wanders wildly in-between, which can only happen when the edits are not exactly the same.

Does anyone have any information regarding whether the German BD edit is indeed different from the French edit? I have no time or desire to go through the entire film frame-by-frame with the versions side-by-side. I am seriously bummed because I would love to be able to create a remastered HD version with the synced British dub. I would hate to have to pay over $80 on Amazon just for a used copy of the French BD.
