Default How will Paramount go back to Blu?

Paramount will have soon to do some crow eating and soul-
PR searching with the return to BLu.
But what -Style- do you think the anouncement will take?

* Arrogant? "Well, our choice was better, but the consumer chose differently, even if the consumer is stupid".

* Humble? "Well, we chose wrong, we're sorry. We're back for good."

* Ninja? "What? We never dumped Blu Ray, it was only a manuver destined to fool HD DVD. Here, your Transformers and Bournes are ready."

* Magic? - "This is not the Droid you are looking for" No anouncement at all. Blu Ray Paramounts just start to arrive in stores, and pretends nothing ever happened.

Perso I think it'll be a mix of humble and arrogant, but mostly arrogant, given the history.

Personally I think they will just announce several titles and dates sometimes this week, probably all the ones that were pulled and the ones that were mastered and pretend it's business as usual

magic...they won't want to admit they were wrong. If confronted, they will probably blame it on toshiba. Somewhere along the lines of "well they stopped making players, what were we supposed to do?"

When I think of Paramount I can't help but think of that drug burnt guy outside Corbin Dallas' apartment who kept saying in that constipated voice, "Gimme the cashhhhhhu!"

I think that they will just start releasing what they destroyed () from that nice leaky warehouse. Then titles will just be listed as if nothing has happened. Maybe (hopefully) there will be a few nice juicy titles available as a sweetener.

Exactly. A kind of slip into the back door after midnight senerio is my guess for Paramount. Movies mysterious appear on the shelves. Maybe different with Universal.

Hopefully they come back with a vengence because they really screwed the Blu ray consumers last year with the cancellations a few days after the announcements. Although, I'm willing to bet that they did that at the request of Toshiba/M$.

I'm just hoping that they announce they are back and have Blu ray versions in the store within the next couple weeks.

I guess I'll be the first to mention that the Bourne movies are Universal and not Paramount.

My guess will be arrogant and will just blame Toshiba, Warner, and retailers. something along the lines of:

Although we were fully ready to continue supporting HD-DVD and believed in the format, due to the recent announcement from Toshiba, consumers can expect future Paramount titles to be released on Blu-ray in the future. The first of these new releases will be Sweeny Todd on April 1, followed closely by Transformers on April 22.

I don't remember if that's the right date for sweeny though. I think they mave a movie due in March too, but I can't remember what it is and I really don't know if they were prepped to have that one on Blu or not.

I also expect their announcement to state something about previously released Paramount Blu rays having new shipments arriving to stores in the coming weeks as well.

Maybe Paramount could bundle a free coaster with each title bought. They should have plenty in stock

Neither option, they will just announce that with Toshiba exiting the HD DVD market that they will begin releasing titles on DVD and Blu-ray only.
