Default ps3 making a bad sound?

ok so i noticed my fan runs alittle louder then it did before and when i listened closer it sounds like the HDD is reading/writing something (you know that scratch kinda sound). is this normal or is it not happening to anyone else? is this bad?

I made a thread yesturday under Noisy Ps3

This has started happening to me!
Is th enoise your hearing like a high pitched scratching/rattling sound?

If you havn't already, remove the hard drive and blow off all the dust thats on it and make sure its clean.

Seemed to improve mine a little!

I stuck a disk in mine over the weekend and it was really loud, came to find out that the disk (rented) had that damn blockbuster sticker on it it's better now, but I can still hear it! This is my 40gb PS3, the 60gb is still running smooth as silk!

I wonder if that sticker was the cause of it reading rough?

im starting to think its nothing to be concerned with, i noticed 4 of my psn demo's are constantly running the into's/previews even when not highlighted, so im guessing its the HDD reading/running those 4 video's. as for the fan i think it was always like that i just havent been that close to my ps3 in a long time (it sits behind my lcd hdtv).
