Blu-ray Samurai

![]() ![]() TBC Although I have long left the Stallone bus this story premise looks intriguing hopefully they didn't **** it up. The distributor made the right decison not changing the name of the film. I'll watch the stream. I'm sure this'll pop up on a 4K Blu-ray. https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/movie/detai.../hnum/12116646 https://www.grooves-inc.com/various-...101296349.html https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0DP1Q5TRJ/ ![]() |

Damn fine film slightly spoiled by poor CGI.
Cast was very good and Stallone was the best I've seen him since Bullet to the Head The producers must have searched coast to coast for the baddies because they were some of the ugliest specimens I've ever seen on film. |

The bluray has great picture quality, good performances, sound is decent in 5.1 BUT... I found the script just ridiculous. Here's why:
Initially, the armored truck is attacked from the side by an empty black van. It pushes into the side of the truck almost knocking an ARMORED truck off the road but okay. Eventually - and keep in mind this is the morning of a week day, the truck gets blocked off on a bridge by two black vans, front and back. You're in an armored truck. RAM IT! The entire day, until early evening is the bad guys shooting, shooting off a grenade launcher, more shooting however... at no point does any other car try and cross the bridge, no cops ever show up, no one worries where the truck is and the three houses we can see in the background that are clearly within distance to see and hear the mayhem, do not. No one home in all three houses. At the end, the father and son truck team limp to a couple of police cars that conveniently show up at the end of the bridge. The limpers gesture for the cops to come and help them... cops stay in their cars and just run the flashing lights for a good minute before credits role. There you have it. Stallone wanders off calmly down the middle of the road cuz he just gives up trying to get into the now submerged truck. I dunno, I just expect more logic and reason to a film and maybe there's a director's cut that fills in these odd gaps but as it sits, no. Just no. |

Sadly it seems that Stallone reached the stage poor Bruce Willis was at, where was putting in appearances in anything sent his way just to make sure his family is taken care of before he retires... His upcoming film, Alarum, with Scott Eastwood, apparently isn't any better, with a RT score of 0%.
At least King of Tulsa is still enjoyable. |

Wasn't the bridge closed to traffic? I'm sure I seen closed road bollards. Stallone is now a Special Envoy maybe he thought it was Special Convoy?
![]() I don't watch many Stallone films TBH (last one was Bullet to the Head and then way back to Cop Land) but I liked him in this and there's no way on earth can you compare late Stallone to late Willis as some of the Willis stuff was utter junk. Yes, the man is unwell but we have to be honest about the quality of his chosen work (yes, I'm sure that's all he could do and the money was for his family etc etc). |

I mean, I saw the preview and it looked awful, not sure what you expected the full film to be like. It feels like the goal of these things is to cut a trailer and photoshop a cover they can sell, the actual film is redunant. There was a Reddit Letter Media video where they did reviews on a bunch of the Bruce Willis Movie Factory films and the clips were so awful I never need to see them. These type of films wish they had Roger Corman making them.
