Default BD-Live nothing for PS3 owners

Seriously, if you are a ps3 owner, why would you care about BD-Live (profile 2.0). I mean what is there to do on BD-Live that you can't already do, if not more with a PS3.

Things BD-Live can do.

Download trailers - I can already do that with PSN, I can also go online and watch trailers at other sites.

Buy Crap - Yep, I can subscribe to Playboy and order me some pizza from Papa Johns right now with my PS3 if I want, so what is going to be offered that I need BD-Live to do.

Polls: Yep, I can already do that on my PS3.

Blogs: Yep, I can already do that on my PS3.

I can also download wallpaper, themes, demos, videos from anywhere off the net (yes, ps3 is a great sexbox), and much, much more.

So can somebody please explain to me as a PS3 owner why I need BD-Live?

I just realized all the crap HD DVD fanboys have been saying about internet features i already pretty much had, so wahts the lulz in it?

I agree, its pointless. Its for the benefit for the studio's more than the customers.

You could download HD trailers as soon as they're available instead of waiting for them to hit the PLAYSTATION Store.

I would rather them spending the time and effort in improving the PQ and QA better than it is today. I could careless about the extras.

I think, in all fairness, 2.0/BD Live was really meant for SA players to have that type of functionality. The PS3 is a true multi-function device that has that and much more functionality already built in.

That said, if there are BD movies out there that have 2.0 content, why not see what it is? It won't hurt to upgrade to 2.0 and you then have the choice to enjoy BOTH 2.0 content and PSN content.

I don't see what the big deal is.

Yeah, I'd love to do that but my computer is a piece of crap. That's why I have to wait for trailers on the PlayStation store (for an HD version, anyway). Plus, watching them on my HDTV is much better than watching them on my monitor.

Seems they are working on a slew of things, might not be that revolutionary at first, but look at the In-Movie game AVP that fox is including with AVP:R (uses both BD-J and online feature as it seems you can play vs a friend over internet).

Is it really usefull considered the base function of a media player (playing a movie) .. time will tell
