I just ordered the US version yesterday, and it's basically a "barebones" release it sounds like since it's MOD.

I love this movie so much. I already have the standard BD but depending on the LE features, I'll probably swing for that. I already have remorse for not getting the LE for Blair Witch as that looked amazing.

This is huge for Second Sight, given the movie's rep as a cult classic & the star power of Gosling & Crowe. The Margaret Qualley element may draw fans of hers in too. I think this could potentially do numbers for them.

It's telling of how great Fidelity in Motion and Second Sight are that while I was 50/50 on buying the WB MOD 4K, I'm all in on buying the LE of this for double the price.

Second Sight releases are usually encoded by Fidelity in Motion. That alone justifies purchasing the standard BD at minimum.

Unlike POSSESSION, which would require more time given how Second Sight is known for aesthetic revisionism of classic genre fare, I would expect THE NICE GUYS to come out this year as it is a 2010s studio picture with a 2K DI.

And even if the master itself was co-funded with Criterion, MEAN STREETS went for preorder only two or three months after Second Sight announced they were releasing it.

Yes I will definitely pick this one over the US as it will be more convenient but also have high hopes for a great release.

To be honest though the limited editions have become a bit too bulky for my taste just because of how much they take space but then again the standard editions are very bare ones. Wish they did at least a limited run of slips for their standards.

Second Sight releasing The Nice Guys was not on my bingo card haha. SS have been killing it though and acquiring some great titles for their catalog.

Between this and the news of the Golden Princess library being picked up by Shout! (after years of those films being done dirty), we're not even halfway into January and yet this might be the greatest year for physical media ever.
