Do Second Sight releases have reversible / original art on the insert? I see no mention of that.

I assume Criterion will also release this in 4K in the US at some point along with The Brood.

This. I can also do without any more of their hinky, drab, suspect-looking "director approved" color timings, and filtered audio. Why risk any of that?

SS FTW. This is a big and significant development for horror fans and hardcore 4k collectors alike. Scanners and the Brood will now more than likely get the definitive uhd releases they both deserve, and I can preorder without hesitation.

I'm still dying to see what can be mustered for Shivers in 4k, and I also really want Rabid in uhd. Then I'll feel like Cronenberg's early body horror back catalog is finally getting its due respect on the format across the board.

I'd love to be able to wrap up both my Cronenberg and John Carpenter back catalog uhd collections in 2025. It sounds like we're getting close....

Eh, they've gotten better, you have to evaluate case by case. Arrow Videodrome was definitely better, but Criterion also did really solid work with the Repo Man UHD which was a pleasant surprise.

Shame about the lack of original art, but if this version outdoes the Criterion, I'll definitely pick up the standard down the line. I have zero interest in these shoebox editions with 300 page essays by Rachel Bisquick and ugly comic book art.

I imagine the Criterion release will be the same transfer and color grade as the SS just with a worse encode like Picnic at Hanging Rock was. Gotta say I'm not that high on this artwork though I'll still likely grab this over the Criterion release
