My subs are probably my weakest part of my home Theater. I have reference series II klipsch, RC-64 II and RF 7 IIs for my front soundstage.
I have an "el cheapo" (as far as high end stuff) RW12d klipsch and a svs PC NSD. Both of them are what I'd consider "looser" bass. They sound pretty good and deep. But I think a dual Klipsch RP1200SW would sound much tighter and cleaner. Since they are newer tech, and it gets rid of the RW12d or something like that, as it's on the cheaper end. But they are $999 each. RP1200SW that is. So I'll have to wait for a sale. I know you can probably get them cheaper elsewhere. I just wonder, what's the best time (or place) to get Klipsch speakers at a good deal? I used to have an avsforum membership but forgot my login. There was a smaller mom and pop guy that sold them at an unadvertised cheaper price. But I lost that contact. So I'm just wondering who has the best deals on klipsch? |

I got a pair of RP-1200SW. They are $999 retail but I got them nearly half off. Super happy with this deal. The retail klipsch sub plus the PC NSD, I was never super excited about. But they sounded pretty good and got the job done. Now I'm actually excited about my subs coming in.

Thanks to recommendations at another forum, I got an RSL Speedwoofer 12S.
Mine arrived on Wednesday. After running Audyssey and then changing my front towers to small, setting them to 60 Hz and the rest of my speakers to 80 Hz, it was time for a brief test before bed. At first I was underwhelmed. I played some scenes from The Batman (the fight in the Iceberg Lounge, the church explosion, and the Batmobile chase) and, although they sounded good, they didn't have the oomph I was expecting. Then I remembered my BD of Edge Of Tomorrow (you know the scene). I suddenly had to tighten a window near the sub because it was vibrating and rattling so much. Today, I watched Jurassic Park on 4K UHD BD. Obviously, the film is still a fun ride, but for my purposes it was a great workout for the Speedwoofer 12S. Currently, I am watching Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Not only is there a lot of deep, punchy bass, but it is a good way to show how the Speedwoofer 12S can dig deep without sounding muddy or overwhelming. It just makes my whole system sound better. In short, I am really loving my new toy. ![]() And for $799, it really punches above its weight. |
