Default Question about an old SD DVD player

I have an old region-free hacked Phillips which is a very nice little DVD player, but recently, I’ve been having an issue with it. When I’m watching movies through my HDMI cable, I tend to get some little white lines at the very bottom edge of the screen. Does mean the player is dying, could it just be a problem with HDMI cable? Is this a common issue? Anyone have any idea what it could be? Thanks to all.

Try a different cable just to rule that out. If it still occurs, try a different TV to determine if it is the player or TV.

Do you have other devices on the same TV over HDMI? If other devices are ok, it would likely be the player is the culprit.
