I suspect this will be a Celestial/Ritrovata one as per the 4K scans on One Armed Swordsman and 36th Chamber...but if 88 is comissioning them, PLEASE can we have a new 4K uncut release of CHINESE BOXER?

As it was one of the earliest restorations, I believe the existing DVD and BD masters of this film have no frame cuts.

I don't know if people know, this film has actually had a 4K release out for more than a year: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Coffr...lu-ray/310652/. I haven't seen it but from looking at screenshots I don't think it's very good (maybe a 1080p upscale?).

I have the Spectrum 4K, IMO it's the best Shaw Bros. 4K, outperform the others King Hu 4K by WCL.

I was looking at the screenshots from a different source, they had that kinda blotchy look to me, but I dunno. AFAIK there's only one other Shaw Bros. 4K (
Corpse Mania) as King Hu's "A Touch of Zen" and "The Valiant Ones" aren't Shaw Bros. I thought "The Valiant Ones" from Eureka looked really really good though.

But you know, not seen the spectrum Come Drink with Me on a 4K monitor or in motion so I'm just going off vibes. Also, don't know how similar this one will end up looking.

Now the Shaw Brothers martial arts titles are going 4K. Wonder how long until the other big guns are released on 4K through 88, though I know Arrow has quite a few of the licenses in both the US and UK so that will limit 88 on what they can release. I know 88 has 8 Diagram Pole Fighter. I just bought the Arrow US version of that not too long ago.

Spectrum released Come Drink with Me on UHD and BD in France through this 4K restoration, and except if 88 access a different master, it sadly was hit by quite a noticeable amount of DNR.

I hope we get more concrete news soon on this release. I was going to buy the Arrow US version, but now that this one is being released, I may hold off. Correct aspect ratio, improved subtitles, and good PQ in comparison to what's already available would get me to buy this release over the Arrow one.
