Excuse my language but F*CK YES!

I do wish this was from Paramount themselves for more international chances and save some importing money but either way I am so happy about this, I do like this movie and I had been wanting a AVC alternative with all the extras.

We know this movie was made digitally and with limitations, so it won't shine on the format; but we will get the HDR improvement at least and better encoding.

Oh wow! YES! One of my fav guilty pleasures. Even with wooden AF Gwenith. The story of how this movie got made is as good as the movie itself. It tick so many steam punk boxes. Shame it wasn’t a success. I would have loved to see many more Sky Captain adventures.

Day one for me on this. It’s a visual and aural treat from beginning to end and it isn’t afraid to go big at the end. Totally Choose Your Own Adventure adolescent adventure fun.

Early 2000s digital movie with post processing up the wazoo. Can't wait for people to trash it when it doesn't "pop".

Same for me. The BD had good special features as it is, I'm assuming this being a Shout Select title if it'll have new extras.

Same here. Was waiting for a properly encoded disc with all the extras. This is even better. I really did want a 4K of this.

It's gonna happen. I would like to live in a world where people were informed about this stuff. Because even for so called super pure film fetishists, there are films who look ''soft'' or grainless or don't have much detail. Because of the film stock they used or a look that the director wanted to achieve.

I would also love to live in a world where people didn't ''scoff'' at the idea of an uspcale or didn't only get stuck in ''Native 4K'' and realized filmouts or upscales in the format are not bad, that the format is not just for REAL 4K, that there are improvements in compression, colour, and much more. You get closer to the original master than with the standard Blu-ray..

This has been on my wishlist for a long time. So glad it's coming to 4K. I'm in the mindset that it won't be 'glorious,' but it will be better than the blu-ray. My expectations are in check. Can't wait! Though I wish SHOUT! had slipcovers on these .

If we’re doing these late 90s/early 2000s early CGI-soaked effects films, then I’d much rather have had “Speed Racer” or even “A.I. — Artificial Intelligence” before this, but I’ll still take it!

(No but seriously though… where on earth is “A.I.”!? Such a perfect candidate for this format).

No but seriously though… where on earth is “A.I.”!? Such a perfect opportunity for the format. ‘Sky Captain’ is fun too though.
I think it being a Spielberg film is probably holding it up, as he usually supervises and/or approves 4K releases of his films from what I've noticed.

I was just about to re-watch this because there was a viral Tweet trying to make fun of the idea that Roger Ebert was ever considered an authority on movies because he liked Sky Captain, but now I'll wait until this comes out.

Wonder if they'll even be able to dig up Kerry Conran for this for a new interview or something.

This was a terrific movie that deserved a bigger following. Maybe this will help it get some new fans.

That would be lovely, but I don't think that's gonna happen. The story with these two guys, the director and his brother, is almost depressing.

I wonder how many of Kill Bill's loudest detractors ever saw the movie in theaters and have any point of comparison.
