Default Suikoden I & II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars

Anyone else pick this up on the Switch? Owned both original versions on the PS and the digital version of S2, which is my 2nd favorite game of all time. I'd rather play a games like this in handheld mode though... ended up importing the Asian version for $20 less than US retail from Play Asia. Just started the first game yesterday, which I remember being rather short (around 25 hours). Looking forward to replaying 2!

Yup. I got it and finally finished the first game after getting to the last battle 30 years ago. Didn't start up part 2 yet because there's a list of games coming up I wanted to go through first.

You should play it ASAP, it is SOOOOOOO much better than the first game, it doesn't even compare. I think I am about half way through the OG, I remember it being pretty mediocre, but yeah... ready to get it over with so I can replay 2 again. Lol

One thing I hated was the inventory system in the first game. I really wished they made it so you could see stat changes on items that were in your storeroom without having to pull stuff out and put it on each characters inventory.

I picked up a physical copy for PS5. I'm currently playing the first game. Somehow I missed these games when they were originally released, and I was playing any good PS1 rpgs I could get my hands on back then.

Yeah, they should have fixed that... and the save system. Auto save is completely useless as it only pops up when around a save point, and you can't save on the world map. I also hate the way you walk in this game.

Anyway I keep getting my ass handed to me by Neclord... which is a funny name, btw. Neck Lord. :O

Rental store syndrome? There were so many games I wanted to try back in the day but couldn’t because they were the kinds of titles Blockbuster would get maybe one copy of which would, of course, always be out. I couldn’t play Chrono Trigger until 1997 when we got a Hollywood Video in addition to Blockbuster.

I need to try these but I’ve been burned by too many “Great” RPGs from the 90s at this point.

The Switch 2 version is going to be a "key card" release. Thus far, it seems Konami is the worst offender in moving towards that BS. They've announced 2 Switch 2 games, and both are key cards.
