Default Delay between picture and audio

So, we set up the new 52" Sony Bravia to our surround sound. The sattelite box is connected to the TV via HDMI, but for audio, we use an analog cable (yellow and white) to our reciever for surround sound. While watching tv, we notice significant delay between picture and sound; watching people and hearing sounds late is quite annoying. Any idea on a fix?

Try sitting within 100 feet of the screen.

Surround sound, but as I said... it only happens with some of the HD channels which is strange.

I sense sarcasm... Ill take it seriously for the other guy though. . Read the wiki link for more info... normally your surround sound receiver will have an option to set the delay time.

Yea. Same here, except replace the word speaker with Marcusarilius. And not by choice either.

only a guess, but I think because you are using an all digital signal to the tv (its getting there faster than the audio), the audio is being converted into analog (DAC)...so maybe thats what is causing the delay?

I was going to say the same. If you don't have HDMI on your reciever, then try the optical like Crackinhedz suggested. If that doesn't work then my guess is that its your satellite provider.
