I've been having on off problems with my Blu Ray player on my PC between it being Choppy and what not. It turns out that half of my struggles were due to the resolution of my PC. Generally I run at 1900 by 1200 or something close to those numbers I didn't realize that this was screwing up my Playback Ability. Once I moved my overall resolution to the preferred 1900 by 1080 (With Black bars on top and bottom, yes even in windows mode) the playback ability Substantially improved.
Thoughts, ideas, suggestions, and Comments would be gladly heard. I'm still getting use to using windows under this resolution with the black bars but it's something I'm willing to do for Blu. ![]() |

Not sure how it works, but this thing stays at 1920x1200.
Every BD has small black bars on the screen... naturally! Some BDs with other than 1.78:1 have bigger bars... to be expected. If I set the res to 1920x1080, everything has those black bars - even this browser. Screw that! Maybe you have some sort of scaling trying to happen to stretch the BD image bigger to fit the screen. This thing is still at default - or at least *I* have never changed anything. 2.40:1 is wide as hell and BIG bars, 1.78:1 is as near to full screen as I would expect it to be(1080 is smaller than 1200). Check the screen settings/scaling. Sorry I can't be of more help. ![]() |

I have 2 laptops and both of them seems to be having the same issue when playing at 1900 by 1200. As soon as I move to 1900 by 1080 my Blu's play flawlessly I just don't understand why I have to have black bars even in Windows Mode. ** Note I am not saying that my Blu's will not play at 1900 by 1200 I'm saying that it'll play while having lag, and there will be no lag at 1900 by 1080** I have the settings keep Aspect ratio it has to do with something about filling in the pixels or something. I'm using the latest updates on Ultra.
Anyways I feel my laptops are high end but these are the specs latpop 1: Dell m1710 on Windows XP 2.6 ghz Core 2 duo 667 FSB, 4 meg cache 3 gigs of ram ddr2, 667mhz 7950 GTX with 512 mb ddr3 memory 100 gig HDD BLU ray UJ 220 LAptop 2: Dell M1730 on Vista Intel Core 2 Extreme X7900 (2.8GHz/800Mhz FSB, 4MB Cache) 4 gb of ram dd2, also 667 mhz 400 gig HDD 7200 rpm NVIDIA SLI Dual GeForce 8800M GTX with 1GB GDDR3 Memory AGEIA PhysX 100M Processor ![]() Last edited by Riverside666; 02-21-2008 at 07:34 PM. |

OK! perfect example is Sunshine WOW can't belive how picky this disk is. If I play the movie while my computer is at 1900 by 1200 (It's native) it doesn't matter what I do with the window or anything the movie just craps out. At first glance most people would figure the disk is flawed or Cyberlink is flawed, Lucky for me I'm not most people, lol. So I re do my resolution to the 1900 by 1080 and then it plays Flawless I mean everything is a problem the Menu doesn't load right the video lags everything is just awful. But as soon as I move to the resolution it's like Night and Day, the difference is so large that it's got me scratching my head.
