So I own the original series of Star Trek on DVD and I'm like " I don't need T.V. shows on Blu, pfft" then I'm like "Oh I'll watch season one, and browse the star trek episode list to decide which disk I should grab. Then while there I see "Star Trek Remastered episode preview" click on it, and... ****ing hell I'm gonna be broke when the release it on blu

my friend have the 1frs HD DVD season ... it's quite an achievement.. the old DVD look like garbage even compared to the DVD side of the combo set. HD DVD up it a notch with more detail and the original score has been re-recorded for the intro witch give it way more power

And if we're reeeeeeally lucky, Paramount will have learned a little lesson from the crap sales of the HD set at $150 or whatever it was, and the blu set will be priced merely insanely high, instead of impossibly high.

Star Trek on Blu-ray will get my $$ regardless of the price. It is just me thought. Hopefully, it will be reasonably priced.

Considering it won't be a combo disc on blu-ray already means that it will be somewhat cheaper...

I'm going to be broke when these are released too...

Default A Star Trek question.

TOS was certainly made on film and Enterprise was broadcast in HD so they are obvious candidates for Blu-Ray. A question though about the Star Trek series from the 80's and 90's. I know little or nothing about how TV shows were made in this time period. Were TNG, DS9 and Voyager shot on film (or some earlier HD video format) or direct to SD video? If they film or HD video then they could be suitable for Blu-ray but if they only exist in SD video, then I have to wonder if they'd look any better than the upscaled DVD's. Anyone have any insight on this?
