Scum has been transferred by Filmfinity into a new 4K DCP from the original Camera Negative, kindly supplied by Tigon Films and commissioned by 88 Films. Extensive cleanup and grading have been performed and it now looks better than it would have done upon release back in 1979. Scum will be released on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD by 88 Films on 18th August.

I didn't see that coming. Indicator did a great job with their BD release, but I don't think I can resist this.

OMG I had this on my "watch soon" cue to visit in the next couple weeks.

Guess I can wait a little longer. I will probably buy this.

Imagine if Arrow had this and released a 'tat' edition..

Includes:

Sock with plastic snooker balls.
'I'm The Daddy' stickers.
Potting shed seeds.

I can’t justify another purchase unless they include the tv version. Happy with my current copy.

Awful artwork... And where's the TV version? That one is overdue for an upgrade.

Curious to see how much of an improvement this new restoration is, though.

I’ll be getting the 4K. It’d be nice if 88 jumped on the bandwagon and released more British classics in Scum’s vein in 4K. Hopefully diversifying like that does well for them! It took Indicator almost four years to sell all stock of their BD LE and in the end they basically gave it away for free.

I still haven't unwrapped my Indicator Limited Edition Blu-ray.

Will likely be buying the 4K, even though it's not a film I watch often.

Would be good if someone finally released 'Scrubbers' after this.

This has got some scenes in it that are just too painful to watch, quite disturbing in places.
