One of those movies when I was a younger I thought seemed pretty sweet when the trailers came out. Then I went to Blockbuster & that's the way she goes.

Did Carpenter have clause only to license future releases only if the artwork was next level atrocious?

Or is there a yearly contest at the steel artist HQ that said "if you can outstink the poopart designers, you get a free month long vacation anywhere in the world!" and we are seeing the winners?

So instead of watching the actual film do you just stare at your steelbook?

I mean, I also listen to my movies when I watch them...so audio quality matters as well. But I don't see you calling out people who post about the audio quality/mixes when it gets brought up in those threads either.

But if you're one of those people who tosses the package when you buy it and puts your discs in one of those old school CD binders, no judgement, but you're spending WAY more money than you need to when you pay extra for the steelbook.

Just saying.

The artwork Shout has been putting on these recent steels just ain't it man. Shout used to put out some of the nicest-looking steels out there, too. They Live, The Fog, and Army of the Dead are all gorgeous.

I would take a giant smattering face of Ice Cube over that...geez....I'll eventually buy Ghosts of Mars 4k but my Indicator disc is more than suitable until I see a good price.

That was my thinking. You've got Natasha Henstridge, Ice Cube, Jason Statham, AND Pam Grier in the same movie!

But they don't include them on the cover.

Devon Whitehead did the artwork for those three steelbooks you mentioned. He also just did the artwork for the Sleepaway Camp movies coming out. His work is fantastic! I wish they would commission him to do more of their steelbooks.
