Is there a way to automatically sort all of the movies in My Collection by Genre preferably on the app, or at least on-line with my PC.
In the app, clicking on the Genre link only lists 5 genres (comedy, coming of age, drama, romance & teen) and only two of the movies in my current collection show up in those genres (one in multiple genres). It seems like this would be a common question but searching through the forum threads I only saw one thread mentioning genre and it was not what I was looking for. I posted in the forum twice asking for help, but no responses. I started adding custom categories to my collection on my laptop, but that would entail having to go through the whole collection and sort it into the appropriate categories. And it looks like you can only choose one category. Surely, people want to sort their collection by genre and with all the information included for the movies in this software, one would think genre sorting would be a no brainer. Thank you very much for any assistance you could offer. CB11 |

I just answered you in the Newbie Forum, but I'll cut and paste my answer here, too.
![]() So if you start out on the My Collection page on the App, the third section on the bottom is "Movies." There, click on "All Movies" (unless you'd rather look at just your DVDs, Blu-rays or 4ks). On that page, you've got two sections. In the second one, "Filter By," click "Genres." There it shows you a list of every genre and a number, which is how many movies you have in your collection that fit that genre (i.e., I have 172 Action movies). Click on any genre, and it shows you the full list of every movie you have in that genre. You don't have to add the genres yourself. Just add the movie to your collection, because the site/app has already attached all the genres to all the movies. I think you only see 5 genres currently because you've only added a handful of movies. So, for example, if you don't see "Comedy" in the list of genres yet, just add any comedy movie to your collection, and then Comedy will be an option. |

![]() On your statistics page https://www.blu-ray.com/community/co...ion=statistics You can click on the genre and see just those movies. But pretty sure that is what the app does by when choosing genre. ![]() |

Thank you for replying, and in two places. I appreciate your help. What you mention would make sense, but I had a number of movies in my collection, and only two of them showed up in those 5 genres that listed. I checked back several different days and there were still only those 5 genres. I did play around a lot in settings the day I posted this question and added more movies to my collection. The next day when I logged in about 30 additional categories were showing in genres and a lot of the movies in my collection had sorted into them. I don't know if it was a setting I changed or if someone maintaining the app corrected something, as I had also posted in the comment forum. I haven't had a chance to check if all of the movies have sorted. I hope so, as I want to use the app to keep track of our collection, but also to be able to choose movies based on the genre we are in the mood to watch. Crossing my fingers that the movies all sorted and that they continue to do so. |
