Hey guys, I was just wondering if you'll be covering CES next month?
I've enjoyed your awesome tradeshow coverage for a couple years now, always top-notch pics and commentary, thanks again. BTW are you based in Europe or elsewhere? Hopefully the show will bring about some meaningful developments in all-things-BD... ![]() |

Sorry for the late reply, we've been really busy lately.
Unfortunately we won't go to CES this year, mostly because we are very busy with other stuff (such as the new site system), but also because our original plan with those trade fair reports was to show people upcoming BD/HD-DVD/HD products that hadn't been released yet. Now there are quite a few HD products available and it's not so "underground" anymore, so it has lost some of it's point. However, if anyone else is going to the show, feel more than welcome to make your own report and we'll put in online ![]() And yes, we are EU based. Last edited by Iceman; 12-06-2006 at 08:27 PM. |

Many of us who are CEDIA Members, who attended the Denver show in September often do not attend the CES show, mainly because it is a 'consumer' show, not for the Trade. Very little "New" revelations will occur then, possibly a few prototypes of upcoming merchandise and in that case our manufacturer's reps update us immediately following the show on that technology or product.
Right now, only rumors and conjecture abound. Yes, there will be enhancements, upgrades, etc. but I don't expect to 'see' this merchandise until late spring, early summer, or introduced at CEDIA 2007 in Denver, CO next September. Not trying to rain on anyones parade, but this is usually how these developments unfold, year after year. Jim |

I think we may have a couple of disparities with this years CES.
1. HDMI 1.3 receivers may get some sort of look at as well as the Epson 1080p front projector with HDMI 1.3. 2. The LG Blu-ray player may finally show its beautiful face at CES. Hopefully with a sub $1K price tag to match up nicely. I would love to go just because it is Vegas in January. Away from the cold and into the sun... But, not this year. |
