Default Best movies with budgets under $1,000,000

It seems like more and more movies are being made with budgets over $100 million dollars. But you don't need a big budget to make a great movie. The 1978 horror comedy "Attack of The Killer Tomatoes" was made on a budget of just $100,420, and it is one of the funniest movies that I have ever seen.

So what about you? What movies have you seen that you enjoyed despite the movie costing less than a million dollars to make? Please let me know. Also, if you have any suggestions as to Hollywood can make movies cheaper, I'm happy to hear those suggestions. Have a great day.

Tape (2001) directed by Richard Linklater. Made for $100,000.

It was shot with a camcorder, takes place in real-time and is set entirely in a motel room. One of Uma Thurman’s best performances.

Thank you for giving the movie's budget and not just the movie's name. That makes this information more inspiring to future filmmakers.

Thank you for sharing the budget as well as the title. In 1996, Jim Carrey got paid $20,000,000 for his role in "The Cable Guy". That's enough to make this movie 40 times with a few bucks to spare.

Thank you for sharing the budget as well as the title. Way back in 1996, Jim Carrey got paid $20,000,000 to star in "The Cable Guy." If he decided to become a director, he could have remade this movie 200 times.

That's the same amount of money that was used to make "Party Girl" in 1995. Thank you for sharing.

I'll throw Linklater's Slacker in there as well ($23,000). Amazing hangout film with so many 'central characters.'

There is a lot of controversy surrounding this film, but in some discussions it is called the most successful film in history, final "profit" compared to "budget". All these terms are relative, but it came out of nowhere to be phenomenally successful, and was even on the cover of Time Magazine, which in those days was really saying something.
