Default Sony Portable Blu-ray Player BDPSX 910 Half white screen

What the title says. On my portable Blu-ray player, it’s LCD Display screen is stuck on having its left side be entirely white. It may have possibly happened as a result of accidentally dropping it not that long ago, but how do I get rid of it?

Undoubtedly faulty, a number of things could have gone wrong. A possibility is likely a flat cable that connects the base to the screen, it might not be making proper contact at either end. That would be the "easy" fix but it could be something much more serious. Even the easy fix is no good unless you are confident to disassemble the whole thing and put it back together. Next thing is send it for repair but it is likely to cost you more than buying a used working unit from ebay.

I can only say that if I was you I buy another either new or second hand. Second hand of course come with some risks.

It sounds like the screen and drive have failed. It will depend on you how you see its worth versus repair/replacement.

If the drive worked you could test it with the HDMI output if it has one.
