I'm puzzled by Universal's choice on these new catalog titles to include only English and only an Atmos remix, at that. They should pay attention to what Warner is doing and include the original audio (I believe it is mono for Coal Miner's Daughter) in lossless. It would be nice if the commentary here was ported to the 4K UHD disc, too, but I suspect you will need the Blu-ray for it. There should be room on the disc for that, although it's a little odd to pick a 66 GB disc for a 125-minute film.

Well, they're doing moves little by little.. FINALLY they're adding Dolby Vision to almost everything, so.. maybe in the future they'll notice and start adding lossless original audio too.. studios are stubborn but slowly beginning to notice what the buyers want..

But I am baffled as well by only ENGLISH, like, for a general release, that's odd, I'd understand and expect it from a MOD, but not even french canadian and spanish latin american as usual? Just English and English SDH? That's just weird, but at least we now get Dolby Vision. Monkey's paw..

This will beine for sure. Beverly D' Angelo is really good in this. As is Levon Helm I don't feel like this film has ever gotten it's due as it relates to the acting. Outside of Sissy getting her well deserved praise

I am so glad I waited for the last 4 years not to buy the bluray. Looking forward to this release on 4K.

When I was in middle school, my mom and I were part of the audience for the scene where she faints onstage during a concert, and Tommy Lee Jones carries her off the stage. It was shot at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium. Audience extras were moved around the arena, depending on the camera angles, to make the venue appear full. We were given flash cubes and plastic coffee stir sticks to poke up into slots in the bottom of them to make the flash go off, giving the appearance of lots of fans taking photos. It was a long afternoon/evening, listening to the onstage band play the intro to a song repeatedly, only for Sissy Spacek to gesture for them to stop and begin her monologue. Then... the colapse. Little did we know we were watching a portion of an Oscar-winning performance.

Pre-ordered this perfect slice of Americana. As great as Sissy is here, Jones, D’Angelo and a revelatory Levon Helm swarm her incandescence as moths to the light of the juke joint on the edge of town.

Yeah, that's what I used to do, too, until I ran out of storage, so now I just put the audios ''on the go'' with reading my discs on the computer, but it does miss out on Dolby Vision and a couple other neat things.

Is there a place to get ''original audios'' or stuff like that online? Someone PM if it's illegal. (I don't understand how, I'm wanting to put alt audio to my bought discs, but whatever). I do really want to get original audios and such for my discs but it's a hassle if you have to get to specific places for specific movies. Would be neat one place that has a lot of them at once..

Received my copy from Gruv. Sampled a few scenes. Looks like another catalog winner from Universal. Looks to be of similar quality as the recent Meet the Parents and 40 Year Old Virgin 4Ks. And yes, it comes with a slipcover.
