There are many different styles of animation. There's 2D/traditional animation, which was used to make "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" back in 1937. There's 3D computer animation, which first made an impact with "Toy Story" in 1995. And then there's claymation, which has been used to make movies like "The Nightmare Before Christmas".
Which style of animation is your favorite? Please let me know. And feel free to explain why you chose what you chose. |

So far, 2D traditional animation is leading the way.
Most of you probably know of examples where 2D traditional animation was combined with 3D computer animation, such as the 1991 feature film "Beauty and the Beast" and the 2012 short "Paperman". But there have also been films where 2D traditional animation has been combined with stop-motion animation. Meaning you had two-dimensional painted characters and objects blended with tangible three-dimensional models. Let me give you a few examples. Here's the 1936 Max Fleischer cartoon "Play Safe": And here's the 1936 Max Fleischer cartoon "Christmas Comes But Once A Year": Just thought you'd like to see those. |

I prefer the original 'style' its was in theaters not the current DNR 'style' that plagues so many discs and is predominant for streaming.

'Claymation' started in the early days of film, not the 1980s.
