It's an SDR master. Koch / Plaion's release from almost a decade ago was also SDR and goes for pretty high prices on ebay.

Of course, I know that. I was just hoping for something new instead of something we already have after all these years. Arrow always uses HDR/Dolby Vision. At least they put work in their releases.

Yeah, cause they have FiM doing most of their encodes, and usually from ungraded masters. I wouldn't trust some of these other labels with doing an SDR to HDR conversion, better leave it as is.

Until Refn gets around to approving a proper 4K HDR master, likely with Second Sight, I'm ok with Eagle just re-releasing the existing one.

I had the GER 4K but sold it when it was worth silly money and kinda regretted selling, so happy for this news
Bet you as soon as we shell out for this version, Second Sight will announce an all singing all dancing HDR special edition!

The Pusher Trilogy doesn't have DV, so I'm not certain about that.

Didn't Koch say NWR didn't want to do an HDR grade for this one back when they released the German UHD? Or did I imagine that part?

It's a bit of an apples and oranges comparison, those were gritty low budget films shot on 16mm, and the lack of HDR could be due to a limitation of the source material or a deliberate choice by NWR and cinematographer Morten Søborg.

The Neon Demon was shot digitally on an Arri Alexa and finished to a 2K DI, just like Drive, and that one did get a proper HDR grade by the post-production team, which was supervised and approved by Refn.

Have there been rumors about Second Sight working on the film? It seems that Icon still have UK rights.

Icon still have the rights to Drive as well and that didn't prevent Second Sight from releasing their 4K. I assume it's them because they seem to have a good working relationship with Refn.

I've contacted Second Sight about this recently and they said The Neon Demon is not on their release schedule.

Could mean they're working on it but don't have a date.

Also, Second Sight still never responded to me about TITANE when I DM'd them on Instagram back in May and they usually do reply to my DMs, so make of that what you will.

Doesn’t look like it, but I’m sure when there’s news or updates they will get posted in this thread.

The Koch 4K-release was the censored R-Rated version, I hope they fix it with this release.

There's an unrated cut of this film?
