So, this was posted a couple of hours ago from Catherine and I thought "Ok, is this fan art or something?" and I ate, caught up on Jeopardy, and checked Facebook, only to find that Nick Castle posted it too. That seems pretty quasi-official to me.

It's a stupid, uninspired movie that I got rid of after the watch and you're not gonna wanna hear my reasons, but I think fans can at least agree with me that this generic title is bad. They couldn't find another Starfighter to save the galaxy or whatever in forty years?

Considering there's so little information it may not even be the final title.

I remember hearing this was in the works a while back. Hadn't heard anything since, so I assumed the project died at the pitch stage.

I like the original. It's pure cheese and has way less action than I recalled (though I paradoxically remembered the whole movie while simultaneously thinking it was originally action packed), but it has a breezy charm to it. If they can keep that charm in the sequel, I'll likely enjoy it too.

If Pete Mitchell can return, I guess so does Alex Rogan.
Were I to rewatch the original today, it might not hold up entirely, but always and still am a huge fan of old arcade games. So just a little excited about this.
