(Pasquale Festa Campanile, 1977, 104 mins)
Release date: 20 October 2025
Limited Edition 4K UHD (World premiere)

Franco Nero (Django, Force 10 from Navarone), Corinne Cléry (Plot of Fear), and David Hess (The Last House on the Left) star in Hitch-Hike (Autostop rosso sangue), a shocking tale of kidnapping and greed.

En route to Los Angeles, Walter (Nero) and Eve (Cléry) pick up a hitchhiker, Konitz (Hess). However, it soon emerges that Konitz is an escaped psychopath, who forces the couple to head to Mexico, leaving a trail of corpses in their wake...

An excursion into the thriller genre by commedia all’italiana specialist Pasquale Festa Campanile (The Libertine), scored by the great Ennio Morricone (The Big Gundown, Wolf), Hitch-Hike is a tense and twisting tale, shot through with jet-black humour.

Always liked this movie. The 88 films bd was decent but lacking the extras of the US release so nice to have a definitive version.

Fantastic news! Very entertaining Italian thriller with a distinctive macho attitude, and great performances from Franco Nero, David Hess and the very beautiful Corinne Clery. And like many other Italian cult movies from the 1970s, it is sometimes so politically incorrect!

I imported the US blu-ray some years ago, because that release had the very interesting 'Road To Ruin' documentary included, plus an 8-page booklet and a slipcover; the UK edition (from 88 Films) only had a trailer reel for other titles.

The stunning Corinne Clery in 4K resolution will definitely be a sight to behold , and it also looks like the 'Road To Ruin' documentary will be an expanded/improved version compared to the version on the original US blu-ray...

Day one purchase!

I've never seen it but everything I'm reading makes me want to! The stuff that came out of the 70s was just different

would be my first Indicator title

Have also had the Raro Blu-ray for ages but never bothered with watching it due to the seemingly mediocre video. Will pick this up for sure; love these Indicator releases.

Pretty good film. Glad to see it's getting a definitive release by Indicator. Saw this 2 months ago. Glad I didn't blind-buy that Raro (Kino Lorber) edition, though.

Sadly the alternative ending not included (you can see the alternative ending on youtube). Don't know why the scene is missing in special features.

That’s a shame.

Unless Indicator do easter eggs?

If you needed a rapist in the 70s, by Jove, David Hess was your man!

Hitch-Hike 4K LE £21.99 at Amazon

Cheapest price I can find for Plot of Fear is Rarewaves assuming a 10% code, which would be £26.26. Combined these will save you a couple £ compared to the bundle from Indicator/Limelight.
