An entirely new IP? Nice to see. I figured their 2D-HD series would end up being entirely remakes of older, well established franchises.

This really caught my eye. Going to try out the demo as soon as I get a chance. Appropriate timing as I am finally starting Dragon Quest 3 this week.

Triangle Strategy was an original game as well as the Octopath series.

Not sure why, but I thought Triangle Strategy was an upgraded version of an order game. That's still one on my backlog I intend to play at some point.

I suspect Square will end up shifting their HD-2D line from new IP's to more upgrades of past classic RPG's after Dragon Quest III turned out to be FAR more of a runaway success then they anticipated. I can see them doing Dragon Quest IV-VI for Switch 2. Shouldn't be TOO heavy a lift considering those games did receive Nintendo DS versions, with quality visuals.

Another one I'd like to see that often gets overlooked is Dragon Quest IX, which was outstanding, but remains the only DQ game only released on handheld rather than home console.

Since they seem dead set on never remaking Final Fantasy 6 in 3D, I would LOVE an HD-2D remake of the game in the visual quality of DQ III.

I'd prefer they not do FF6 in 3D, mainly because I'm fairly certain they'd turn it into a hack n' slash game similar to what they did to FF7. I'm fine with an HD-2D version of FF6.

I think the HD-2D series will continue being a mix of original games, sequels to earlier HD-2D titles and remakes of older games.

This approach has served them well so far, and is also what I want to see them continue to do as a fan. No reason we can't have both originals and remakes!

I'd prefer a HD-2D remake to a 3D remake of Final Fantasy VI, so sure, I'd play it and enjoy it. But we got the Pixel Remaster recently, so I can't say I'm too eager for another version so soon.

Now Chrono Trigger, that's the one I'd really like to see. I've been hoping for an announcement of any kind of remake, remaster or even just straight port since this year is the 30th anniversary.

You know what SNES game I wish would get this style of remake? Illusion of Gaia.
