I know the rights to this franchise are all over the place but it would be unfortunate and maybe even lame and not worth making this game if only the original movie ends up being represented in it.

I cannot believe the trailer says Single Player in it in addition to Multiplayer. That is surprising but it's probably online only single player, which of course makes zero sense other than to force microsales offers. I hope that's not the case and they let you play it off line and a CPU Bot mode for the other modes offline too. Then I'll consider it.

I guess the game lets you play as various characters from the movies.

It is from the same team that did the Friday the 13th game.

They also were behind the Predator game. This will most likely follow suit, x amount of players vs. one. I’m usually not interested in this type of game, but I enjoyed the Friday game and the similar TCM game ( different company) so I will pick this up.

The biggest problem with these games is the user base drops off drastically after a certain period of time.

The Friday the 13th game implemented an offline mode later on (you can only play as Jason against counselor bots), but it got boring fast and it’s not even remotely as fun as playing against other people. If you’re afraid of playing online then I would skip this game. You’re missing out by avoiding the online portion.

I'm more of an explorer gamer. So I'll try to be exploring, and other live gamers are either firing at me, trying to smash into my vehicle, or interrupting my exploration in some way. Mostly why offline gaming is more peaceful. I've played online with PS Plus for 30 days and got a good sense of it. And for Crew 2, that's free to play online surprisingly with no PS Plus needed, just waiting for them to get it offline mode as they promised "soon".

This could be fun though even with Bots if the map is fun enough.
