I didn't see a poll for this listed, and I've been playing various entries in this series since I was a teenager. So, I figured I'd start a thread for some feedback - sound off!

3 for the gameplay. IV for the soundtrack and SotN for being one of the greatest games ever made.

God this is hard, particularly the classic style Castlevanias. Bloodlines didn’t get a fair shake for a long time so I favor it quite a bit these days. IV has great atmosphere and just instantly takes me back to a certain point in time. III is the definitive “Classic Vania” before they tried various ideas to change it up with the 16-bit games. Chronicles is really fun for being the “damned hard one.” Rondo has perfect 90s style and some fun options to play with. For the Metroidvanias, SOTN just feels right as a whole but I love the Ys III-like Order of Ecclesia (it really is like a better designed Ys III than a Metroidvania!)

I picked Bloodlines and Symphony, one for each of the two main types, but that could change depending on the mood!
