Question about Paramount/Universal pricing? - Blu-ray Forum

How expensive will blu-rays be from Paramount and Universal. I started buying blu-ray after Paramount switched so I don't recall what their prices were like before the switch.

I hope they take a page out of Disney's book, not Fox's, and price their new releases at $23.95 and their catalog titles at $19.95.

Paramount/DreamWorks priced their new releases on Blu-ray at $39.99 MSRP, but Amazon.com usually discounted them to the same prices as Sony's. $27.95 for new releases. Paramount catalog titles were priced at $29.99 MSRP and could be had for $19.95 at Amazon.com (DreamWorks didn't release any catalog titles until they were HD DVD exclusive).

Universal is harder to tell though as their new releases on HD DVD are priced at $39.99 MSRP with a Amazon.com price usually around $26.95, but those are combo titles... so it's possible they could lower their prices slightly for Blu-ray... or they might just keep them the same. Catalog titles are priced at $29.95, but can be found on Amazon.com for $19.95.
