Hello there,
I cannot get the audio to sync up with the video with this player. I have tried several Blu-rays. I am using HDMI to a 1080i Mitsubishi RPTV. I have tried audio through the HDMI cable to the TV's sound, and also coax digital out to my Yamaha AVR. It is the same with both: the audio is behind the video by about half a second (I estimate). I have updated to 1.6 firmware on the player. I tried the audio delay setting in my Yamaha but it only goes to 240 ms delay, and the sync is actually more off than that! The weird thing is, sometimes by the end of the movie, the sync is much less. With other discs, it stays the same out of sync the whole time. Does anyone else have this combo and the same problem? Or is yours working fine? Thanks much --Todd |

Share your experiences with Panasonic Tech. Support, maybe thay can provide a firmware update to correct the problem. [Jim]

I can see having delays via digital out to an AVR but HDMI right to the set should be ok.
I don't have your particular set, but I have no issues with my setup regarding lipsync. So in this case I don't know if a firmware is what you need since this isn't a global problem with all units. Do you have another set to try? Could possibly have a defective unit also. |

How long have you had the player?
If you still can......exchange it for another one. If the next one does the same thing, then it's probably a problem with your TV |

Thanks for your responses.
I'm thinking maybe: It's a problem because the set is 1080i and maybe it's taking too long to process the video, so then the video is falling behind the audio? Maybe it's a bad HDMI cable? Maybe try it on components and see if it has the delay through components? Though if that was true, I don't see how to correct that problem, that it would be working on components but not HDMI.. Any ideas on that? I'm trying not to return the player because it's from Amazon and it would take a while to get a replacement.. Thanks |
