Default Tales of Vesperia, announcment and platform chosen

Before you get all excited bend over because here comes the shaft, it's a 360 exclusive just like Eternal Sonata. Link below, let the WTF's begin

Press Release

QUOTE:
The Tales series is one of our most successful and well-regarded franchises, and we’re celebrating its 10th anniversary in a big way with two new games that redefine role-playing on the Xbox 360 and Wii,” ....but we’ll be supporting special anniversary-themed programs throughout the year to thank all the fans of the series for their dedication and enthusiasm.”

By sticking it up their.... because you know a former Playstation exclusive series, means that we all own 360's and there is no way PS1 and PS2 owners would buy a PS3.......I hate you Namco...........

Day1 for this game on 360 for me.

I also bought Eternal Sonata on 360 because I'm tired of waiting for the PS3 port and who knows how long it will take to port to the PS3.

The reason they are out on 360 first is due to 360 dev tools being out a year or more before ps3 tool. RPG development time is generally 2 years + for a good one. If they wanted next gen there only choice was the 360.

Well, this one will tank in Japan for almost certain. WTF is right. Did Microshaft pay the full dev price of this one too?

No confirmation on the big pay off, but thats the only way M$ gets anything. Great for you Amon you will excuse me if I don't share your enthusiasim as the 360 is junk and by far the worst console ever made (reliability wise) and I will never buy another one. Because of that fact there is no good reason, nor will there ever will be to make 360 games, I feel ashamed to even admit to owning 11 of those POS. I am a gamer not a fanboy, but junk is junk.

If you take your 360 hate blinders off and read the rest of my post you would see why it makes sense that it's coming out on the 360 first.

I agree I would like to see these games on PS3 as that was the console I bought first and like the most, but the reality is the 360 was out there first so it's getting the first influx of JRPG's.

I read what you're saying, but I don't agree with it. First influx period is more or less over at this point, and there's a newer and much better PS3 kit out there now. Business-wise, I think PS3 would've made more sense seeing as Tales games have done considerably better in Japan than anywhere else, but no XBox game has done too well in Japan, and I don't see this one as changing that.

I still think long-term, the PS3 will be the choice platform for RPGs. Final Fantasy will see to that, but it has Disgaea 3, Sega's Valkyrie game, and White Knight as well. Contrary to what it says in GamPro, the 360 has defintely not "cemented itself as the system for RPGs".

I can't they are stuck on!, oh well at least they have this cool light show when I push the little button on the side of them.

Honestly thats the best thing I read all day, thanks for the chuckle

I realize what your saying but JRPG's on 360 always tank bad in Japan (compared to Playstation and Nintendo branded ones). Tales is huge in Japan, Nintendo is huge in Japan, Sony is also, M$ is hated in Japan. So yeah lets put it on 360, that will make us the most money The math doesn't even make sense any more there are 10mill PS3 users and maybe 18mill 360 users and out of that possible 18mill about 3 to 4 mill of them like RPG's and 2.8 of them like JRPGs and you know what I am willing to bet about 90% of all 360 owners that like JRPG's live in America. So why release a game known for strong Japanese sales on a system that has ZERO Japanese presense? There is no logic there. Unless you factor in a little Dough, from uncle Billy Bob, then it all makes sense. Thins is just like the format war except for some reason people are still buying a terrible broken product.

It is...coming to the US on 360. There isn't word on a Japanese release at all from what I've read...
