Amazon does a good job at getting the movies to your house on release day and sign up for Prime shipping and you get free shipping also with Amazon...no tax..

I may start doing the Amazon thing. Makes sense, especially if they can get it to you on release day.

And unless I'm wrong, they don't charge until they ship, though that might be pretty standard these days...

Amazon is pretty good (pricewise probably the best one out there)
DVD Empire is pretty good as well, most times even faster than Amazon (but more pricey)

I take it you have to order next day in order to get in on release day?

Not really.

That's why if you search this forum (Amazon Prime), there are groups of 4 splitting the $79 cost.

I became an Amazon Prime member for $16.

That's pretty much it. It all depends on how much you will order. Plus you have priority over "non prime" customers.

Definitely worth it, although if you can piggy back on someone else's membership, all the better for you.

I share my membership with my company, and combined we spend enough on Amazon to make up for that $79 in about the first 4 weeks.
