Cool Spoiled

I've noticed every since I've went with HDTV and Blu ray movies I can't stand non-HD programs & Movies. I don't even bother with watching anything on tv that isn't in HD. Also with having an DVR and being able to watch programs commercial free, and when it is convenient to watch has me searching the guide less and less. I noticed how bad it was when I went to my friends today to visit and he had a non hd tv and was fumbling through the channels for 30 minutes. Anyone else noticed how spoiled we are getting or is it just me lol

i can! im in college, so all my friends have SDTVs and you just learn to live with it.

The trick is, a lot of them are small, 23 inches max, so its not that bad. However, we got a 50 inch SDTV at one of our fraternity houses and I can't stand it.

yeah... i would force myself to watch standard definition for a couple of hours just so that I can appreciate the clarity of HD again.

Wink It must be on Blu for me to watch!

I know how it is. People keep asking me if I have seen this movie or that on DVD (like Transformers or Beowulf). I just say that if it isn't out on Blu-ray I don't watch it. Except for my James Bond collection, I don't plan on watching standard DVDs again, no matter how much I enjoyed the movie. I will find an excuse to get me another movie in Blu-ray and watch that. Like this thread says, we are spoiled!

"You kids today don't know how good you got it. In my day we did not even have that new fangle thing called DVD let alone the newest contraption known as Blu-Ray. In my day we had to fast forward and rewind the tape and made sure that it did not get ate by the VCR. In my day there were no such thing as HD wide-screens. We had a box and that was all and good enough for us folk."

Could not resist the old-fart talk. Anyway I can't imagine now how a lot of us managed without BDs or PS3s.

i have been watching nothing but blu for a few days now and last night i watched a couple dvd's and wow, i can't believe how crappy and bland they look. i definitly get spoiled on them, if i lay off the blu for a while i notice it less, but after a blu binge, i am definitly spoiled.

I recently got Directv HD, and I rarely watch anything that is not HD. I'll even bypass some movies on SD (like HBO2) hoping it will show up on the hd channel (like HBO-HD). Althought the bigger reason I do so is so that I'm watching a properly filled (wide) screen instead of a 4x3 frame within.

I've become so spoiled on BD, especially in the audio arena, that I'm canceling DirectTV. It will save me > 100 bucks a month. I get all of the local channels via OTA in high def, and if I'm spending money on high def, I want it to sound like BD.

I stopped watching my DVDs a long time ago in favor of HD cable even before I got BD. I still have a bunch of shrink-wrapped DVDs that I'd rather wait for on BD than unwrap and reduce their resale value.
