Default Where are the Blu-ray supporters!!!

I have been reading with interest over the past year the format war occurring between Blu-ray and HD DVD. I do not own a player yet but will buy one in 2007. Initially I was supporting HD DVD but now strongly believe that Blu-ray will dominate and the recent movie announcements have confirmed this.

I have posted a few times on highdefdigest and avsforum but have a couple of times gotten my head bitten off by HD DVD fans.

Where are the Blu-ray fans? If I was to believe everything on those forums I would believe that Blu-ray is completely unreliable, the PS3 is a dud, Blu-ray has poor picture quality, HD DVD movies greatly outsell Blu-ray (actually both are selling poorly compared to DVD) and HD DVD has this war in the bag.

Look at the HD DVD players. Both initial Toshiba machines left a lot to be desired. The HD DVD add on for the x-box 360 and the Toshiba A1 or A2 is hardware crippled to keep the price down, that is why they are cheaper than the Blu-ray players that are not crippled. The Toshiba does not do 1080p and the x-box add-on does not have HDMI. All I keep hearing though is HD DVD is so much cheaper than Blu-ray. Well lets compare apples with apples. The price of the Toshiba XA2 and the Samsung Blu-ray player. The price of the x-box 360 + HD DVD add-on and the PS3. Not a lot of price difference.

As an objective viewer I can see Blu-ray having a very strong 2007. I think a lot of people who purchased HD DVD players realise this and are very bitter. I am sick of the Blu-ray is dead, PS3 is a dud, look at the poor Blu-ray sales, Blu-ray is more expensive, Blu-ray has poor picture quality, no-one needs 50GB threads that are dominating the forums lately.
