Default New Sammy 5087S Questions

Hi All -

I just got my new 5087s and was looking for some assistance regarding the settings. I have a Panasonic DB30 connected and although it looks spectacular, I have noticed considerable grain while watching nighttime or dark movies scenes. The BD player is connected to my Onkyo 605 with monoprice 1.3 cables.

For instance, I popped in POTC 3 and when they are all under the ship having dinner in a low lit room, the background is quite noisy or grainy. Daytime scenes look absolutely stunning so I am so I am sure it is something in my settings. I haven't noticed anything like what I am describing while watching DirecTV HD which is what has me a little baffled.

I plan on using my DVE disc this week to calibrate the best I can but if there is something that someone can recommend in the mean time, I would appreciate it. I am coming from an older Toshiba 1080i RPTV with minimal picture adjustments so the customization options on this TV are going to take me a little time to walk through.....

Thanks in advance

AJC
