I have watched Ultraviolet on BD and I enjoyed it. It wasn't as crisp or clean as some of the other movies that I have watched, but it definately looked great.

It has a stylized look, with overblown colors, & smearing. the PQ is excellent.

The sound was great for the type of movie it was but I liked the sound on Underworld better. The guns make better noise on that movie and I didnt have to put it as loud to get to the point I want. Ultraviolet I have to put 75 percent up to get to the level I watch movies at but underworld on the other hand is only about 50 and its much louder.

I thought the Uncompressed PCM 5.1 was great. The separation throughout all of the channels was amazing and the sound effects were really crisp and clean.

Thats very good news. I'm very happy to hear that the sound quality is great as that makes the movie come alive.

Default Ultraviolet blu-ray 10/10 PQ

I know this is an old title release on june 27,2006 but what I like the most is How this guy treating Blu- ray disc movies. this is the 1st High Definition movie Got a higher points 10/10 among HD-DVD and only five titles BD reviews under DVDFILE.com

Fantastic Four and enemy of the state reviews got higher marks too

except for The fifth element and House of flying daggers which are from the first batch release on June.

Regards,

The guy who is reviewing this BD called an Ramer .

If you would like to see his reviews this is the link:http://www.dvdfile.com/index.php?opt...=5814&Itemid=3

It has been revised on the Sony player BDP-S1.The final remark about the picture quality is "This is the first disc I’ve seen that I feel comfortable with awarding the highest video score, a demonstration level transfer"

From what I have seen of Ultraviolet it looks kinda like a VC-1 encode.

IE, there is no grain to speak of and everything looks smoothed.

You might remember the look of Sky Captain - it is not as severe but it has the same kind of feel to it.

Hope that helps.

It is certainly the 'artistic choice' of the cinematographer/director and it might be something you like or not...

Its supposed to look soft, the movie was filmed that way.

There was extensive CGI manipulation going on with this film to give the whole thing a wierd but unique look. Certain colors were washed out and blurred, others were inhanced to a ridiculous degree, and this would change depending on the scene and necessity. The end result as absolutely amazing.

I've seen Ultraviolet running on the crappy Samsung BD player running at 1080i and it was the best picture I've every seen. Heck, I've seen other movies playing on a Sony XBR and it still didn't look as good as Ultraviolet...I'd love to see that movie run on a 1080p XBR!

Default Ultraviolet Review

Ok. I have seen alot of talk about this ultraviolet movie.
I heard it sucks. Then i hear its good...Then i hear its only good because of the quality and the effects....then i hear it all sucks....

Can someone that isnt a fan but doesnt bash every movie review this one?
I looked at some screen shots of the film and it looked pretty cool to me.
I'm easy to please. And i like sci fi...and blu ray especially if it looks good.
How does this one look on blu?
And is it worth it?

It would be cool if the people running this website would review it..I usually read those then the user comments to help me out before i buy.
Thanks.

Visually it is beautiful. The movie/story is not that good. I own it and don't like it. And I love movies with excellent visuals. Probably never watch it again.
